OUR STORY
VLC is a family owned and operated boutique organic winery that focuses on quality over quantity. Its roots stem from a love of family, culinary arts and all things winemaking. Though this story begins much farther from the farm in Colchagua Valley where these hand selected grapes are produced.
The roots of this wine are steeped in the traditions of the Big Easy. New Orleans, Louisiana where Michael, a native, and Kathryn, a Californian, fell in love with each other amid the culture and spirit of the city that is synonymous with music, art, food and drinking.
Los Chanchitos Farm
While traveling through South America, we were captivated by Chile, Its diverse landscape, warm and welcoming people, and enduring traditions. We felts at home in Santa Ana, nestled in the famous Colchagua valley between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, where Huasos ride horses, make wine and surf. Who could resist this life?
When we found our land, a simple pumpkin patch, we epitomized the sentiment: Happy as pigs in mud, and thus Los Chanchitos! We envisioned a farm where we could grow our own food and make our own wine to share with friends and family through hard work, love and attention to detail.
Our goal is to craft wines that can be paired with great good in what we consider to be the modern performance art of our time.
Our Wines
Viña Los Chanchitos are currently offering 9 different varietals of vine for our current harvest.
We produce a modest amount, but excellent White wines. We have 3 single grape varietal whites; Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne and our Wave Hog White Blend of Roussanne, Viognier and Marsanne.
Additionally, we offer 5 reds, two of which are blends and the remaining 3 single varietal. Most notably, our Grenache/Mourvèdre is a standout in this seasons’ harvest as well as our hand selected Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.
Wave Hog Red (GSMc) is an easy approachable blend for many drinking styles and tastes and is a versatile drinker. Cinsault and Cabernet Sauvignon round our our single varietal options.
